The predecessor of MRT was Masteel Wheel and Tyre Plant, which was built in the 1960s and was the first production base for train wheels and tyres in New China. After 60 years of development, it has become the only domestic enterprise with the ability to research and manufacture full spectrum rail transit wheel and axle products. The products are widely used in various fields such as rail transit, engineering machinery, aerospace, national defense and military, and exported to more than 70 countries and regions, enjoying high reputation in the global rail transit wheel and axle industry.

The company has leading talents in wheel and axle technology and a national and provincial-level innovation platform, mastering key core technologies of wheel and axle products with independent intellectual property rights. It fills multiple domestic gaps in high-speed, heavy-haul, high-power, and low-noise wheel and axle products and technologies, and has launched multiple types of products globally.
